Arts Enrichment: Arts Enrichment is a 2-hour weekly program specially designed for 3 to 5 year olds that combines visual art, movement, and music. Each week, young artists explore themes and concepts while developing essential language, social, cognitive, and fine and gross motor skills through creative and interactive expression. Each class includes a supervised snack and story time. Special discount will be given for registering in two or more Arts Enrichmen classes. ArtSpark: ArtSpark is a 75-minute weekly program specially designed for 2 to 3 year olds that combines visual art, movement and music. Each week, young artists explore themes and concepts while developing essential language, social, cognitive, and fine and gross motor skills through creative and interactive expression. Each class includes a 15 minute snack time (snacks not provided). Parent participation is required. Co-Instructors: Monday - Tami Cline (Art) & Julie Casselman (Music & Movement); Saturday - Clarissa Argueta (Art) & Tiffany Chan (Music & Movement)


Art Exploration: Have fun with watercolours, tempera paints, pastels, chalk and more. Learn all about composition, colour and texture while painting, drawing, and making collages and prints. Instructor: Clarissa Argueta


Clay Creations: Learn to create imaginative clay sculptures using hand-building techniques, such as pinch pots, slabs and coils, that are glazed and fired. Projects are inspired by world cultures and contemporary artists. Instructor: TBD


Discover Cartooning: Learn how lines, shading, texture and patterns can be combined to create fun cartoon characters set in exciting scenes and tell entertaining stories. Stretch the imagination by creating unique and humorous 2D and 3D projects. Instructor: Michael Allard


Drawing & Sketching: In this combined level course, the instructor will work with students based on their skill and experience level to learn drawing and sketching techniques with drawing tools such as graphite, pen and ink, charcoal and chalk pastel. In Level 1, beginner students will learn foundational skills for creating images and illustrations. In Level 2, intermediate and advanced students will learn more experimental and challenging techniques for creating images and illustrations inspired by traditional and contemporary artists. Painting and Drawing: Have fun learning painting and drawing skills using graphite, charcoal, pastels, watercolour, tempera and acrylic paints. Explore techniques for creating unique works of art including landscape, figures, animals, portraits and still life. Instructor: Tami Cline (Tues); Clarissa Argueta (Sat)


Teen Fine Art Studio: Are you a 14 to 17 year old interested in pursuing a future in visual art or design? Teen Fine Art Studio, led by a professional artist, will guide you to explore and experiment with techniques and projects inspired by your own ideas and creativity. Build on skills you are learning through your current secondary school visual arts courses by exploring composition, themes, idea communication, visual style, and design process while creating 2-D and 3-D works through painting, drawing, collage, and sculpture. This class prepares you to submit a portfolio for post-secondary admission. Instructor: Michael Allard


Tween Art Exploration: In this course tweens will explore the world of visual art with watercolour, tempera and acrylic paints, pastel, chalk, charcoal and more while learning techniques in painting, drawing, sketching, collage, print-making, and mixed media.
